Last few days to help us reach our goal!

May 12, 2019

Hi everyone,

Thank you to everyone who has supported our campaign so far. We have 2 days left to reach our goal of $6,500 so if you haven't already, please make your gift today.

We have received a rough quote from UCSD to use their test stand and plan to use it this summer! We will be performing a static fire test of our current rocket engine design to evaluate its performance. A lot of effort has gone into the design of this engine. Tools such as rocket propulsion analysis, STAR-CCM+, and Ansys Fluent (fluid simulation software), and MATLAB have been used to develop a practical design. We are also looking into sourcing a vendor to manufacture our cavitating venturi design as well. Cavitating venturis will be used to regulate the fluid flow of our propellants throughout the operation of the rocket engine.

We are aiming to run experimental tests with these components as well, but we still need your help! Please continue to share this campaign with others, as we are getting closer to the static fire test.

Thank you for your support!

Thank you for helping us reach our initial goal!

April 28, 2019

Hi everyone,

Thank you for helping us reach our initial goal of $5000! This will help us manufacture the engine. We have now decided to raise the goal to $6500 in order to pay for a day of testing.

We are currently in the process of setting up a lab apparatus for a water-flow test. In this experiment, we aim to characterize our injector design and validate our plumbing infrastructure. This is done by pressurizing a tank of water and allowing it to flow through the plumbing line which connects to the inlet of the injector. The setup consists of pipes, pressure transducers, pressure gauges, valves, the injector, water tanks, and a pressurizing gas. This will help us significantly in our efforts to justify our design and reiterate. We also have a 3D print of our current injector design to be used for the water-flow. Additionally, a preliminary design of our cavitating venturi, which regulate fluid flow, has also been printed. We appreciate your support!

Please continue to share this campaign with your friends and family!

Thank you!
