Women in Aviation

Women in Aviation at San Jose State University aims to promote relationships within the aviation industry, mentor students seeking aviation-related careers, promote women in the aviation field, and conduct outreach to younger generations. As a support system for the Aviation Department of SJSU, we strive to further the personal, academic, and professional growth of all our members.

The purpose of this Crowdfunding Page is to send our members to the 2017 Women in Aviation International Conference in Orlando, Florida. This event is three days that are full of opportunities to get more involved with what’s new in the business and aviation industry. There are dozens of educational sessions, professional development seminars, and keynote speakers that provide insights about the issues facing the business and aviation industry. This conference gives our members the opportunity to connect with aviation industry professionals, meet other aviation students from across the nation, be more effective when hosting outreach programs for middle school and high school students, become inspired and motivated, and most importantly, learn a great deal more about how we, as students and future employees, can benefit the aviation industry.

Will provide registration for one of the Special Workshops held on the first day of the conference so one of our members can start the conference with informative and inspiring stories, as well as gain advice and leadership on how to be better members and leaders of the Aviation world. Will provide registration for the conference luncheon, so one of our members can meet other members of Women in Aviation International. These meetings can start lifelong relationships, as well as inspire conversations with pilots, keynote speakers and other influential members of the aviation world. Donors will receive a handwritten thank-you note from WIA SJSU members.

Registration for the banquet. Every year, the banquet is the highlight of the conference. The banquet is an exciting final closing to the busy conference in which Women in Aviation International awards their members with scholarships, discusses the successes of the last year and the plans for 2017. Donors will receive a handwritten thank-you postcard from the conference.

Registration for one member to go to the conference, Women in Aviation International Conference is a great opportunity for all those aspiring to be in the aviation industry. Here our members are able to gain lifelong relationships with other members from all over the world. Our members are also able to interview with companies and talk to aviation icons. Donors will receive a signed picture of WIA SJSU at the conference.

Airfare for one member. As students, this is the most daunting aspect of the conference. Donors will receive a signed picture of WIA SJSU and a handwritten thank-you postcard from the conference.

All costs covered to send one member to the conference. This allows a member to go and enjoy the conference without having to worry and stress about the financial impact of this lifetime experience.
