Timpany Center 2023
The Timpany Center is a non-profit educational and therapeutic facility that serves community members through a partnership between San José State University Research Foundation (SJSURF) and Santa Clara County. Originally dedicated in 1979 in the memory of Dr. C Russell Timpany, County Superintendent of Schools, the center was designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. Today, the center continues the vision of Dr. Timpany with a mission to provide, through multi-agency involvement and San José State University student service learning, inclusive aquatic and land-based activities that target the promotion of physical health and wellness in individuals with disabilities, obesity, and/or advanced age from the greater Santa Clara County community.
With the construction completed, we are making every effort to extend the life of the new pool, this means the elimination of all metals and materials that could deteriorate the tile, plaster, and water chemistry. Your support in this campaign will allow us to purchase specialized water wheelchairs and walkers, new pool fitness equipment and other locker room amenities such as scales and bathing suit dryers, new shower curtains etc.

A gift at this level could allow the purchase of one of the following: Water weights, ankle weights for land or water, new lifeguard supplies, exercise bands.

A gift at this level could allow for the purchase for 2 sets of water weights, fitness center bands or weights, smaller shower chairs.

A gift at this level could allow for 1/4 the cost of a water wheelchair or walker or larger more complex shower chairs.

A gift at this level could allow for the cost of or ½ the cost of a water wheelchair or walker, 2 shower chairs, 1 bariatric scale.
