Biomedical Engineering Society

The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) is a student organization intended to immerse its members in a supportive community that aids in the fulfillment of their academic, professional and personal goals. Every spring, BMES hosts the annual Bay Area Biomedical Device Conference. This is a student-run event intended to expose students to the latest advancements in the biomedical industry. The conference also provides students with the opportunity to network with industry professionals and exhibit the work they have completed in their senior project classes.

This year, our conference will focus around the theme of “Sustainability-driven Healthcare Technologies.” For our 2022, we’ve transitioned into an in person conference which has increased our expenses from past virtual conferences. Our students are raising money to bring the best speakers and experts on sustainability to educate our audience on our theme. Funding will also contribute towards the purchase of marketing materials such as flyers and save the dates, dress shirts for students, and catering for our event. In addition to this, the funding will also support other BMES activities. 

With the help from sponsors, our students will be able to meet the funding goals set forth for the upcoming conference. The majority of our funding comes from attendee registrations and sponsorships; however, because we are transitioning into an in-person format our expenses will be higher. Your tax-deductible contribution will assist students in purchasing meals, printing materials, business cards, and volunteer conference t-shirts. We wouldn’t be able to gain this invaluable experience if it wasn’t for generous support from our donors and we are counting on your support to help us reach our goal!
