Spartan Racing Formula

Who are we?

Spartan Racing is the student chapter of SAE International at San Jose State University. Our organization consists of various engineering disciplines, science disciplines, and business students. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is student-led and driven. Our team works year-round investing an immense amount of time between classes and work to build our entry into the Formula SAE competition. By participating, students gain valuable real-world experiences and create a strong base for their professional careers. Your donation will go directly to Spartan Racing and will help our program continue to grow!

Why are we raising the money?

Throughout the year we have faced many challenges presented by COVID-19 that have prevented us from being able to move forward on manufacturing critical components of our car. Many of our previous sponsors and manufacturing outlets have not been able to support us as they did before due to the pandemic. Our team is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which relies heavily on donations and sponsorships in order for us to design, manufacture, and compete at the Formula SAE Competition. We are beyond grateful for the generous sponsors that are able to support our team during these times, but even with their support, we still need your support. Your support will go towards the raw materials, components and machining time that is necessary for us to successfully manufacture our vehicle. 

By donating to our team you are also supporting the education and development of our team members that is heavily dependent on how much we can raise throughout the season. By raising enough funds, our organization is able to provide our members with a superb education outside the classroom, that is found nowhere else in academia. By allowing them to have real world hands-on experience, direct application of their degree, and consistent challenges, Spartan Racing is able to prepare our members for the workforce.
