Who are we?

Welcome to the department of Communicative Disorders at SJSU, and its community-serving clinic, the Kay Armstead Center for Communicative Disorders (KACCD). Located in one of the first Speech-Language Pathology programs in the state of California and the California State University system, the KACCD has long been a destination for persons and families seeking speech-language therapy services for communication and related disorders. The KACCD is a remarkable no-cost-for-services clinic that has supported the San Jose and South Bay areas in providing screening, assessment, and therapy services for clients with communication disorders across the lifespan. For 6 decades, the clinic has provided services to the community while training undergraduate and graduate students to become speech-language pathologists and audiologists.

Why are we raising the money?

We are raising money to support the final stages of an upgrade to our facilities, materials and equipment in the Kay Armstead Center for Communicative Disorders. KACCD is a jewel in the SJSU crown - your donations allow us to maintain it as an excellent, contemporary facility that supports faculty research, student instruction and training, and to serve clients seeking speech therapy services.
