Student Academy of Audiology

The Student Academy of Audiology at San Jose State University is a student organization that acts in the interest of audiology students at SJSU. We aim to provide resources, opportunities, and support to members of the community who are interested in audiology. In 2023, we have the opportunity to attend the National American Academy of Audiology Conference in Seattle, WA. This conference is a tremendous opportunity for Doctoral of Audiology (AuD) students at SJSU to obtain valuable resources, networking opportunities, and further audiology education. We are asking for your support in raising funds for travel and accommodations for 18 students at the 2023 conference.

Your support of this campaign would mean the world to the students in this program. In 2020, the Doctorate of Audiology (AuD) launched and it has been incredible to see the way the program has grown. The inaugural cohort has been able to successfully complete two years of classes and have completed clinical rotations around the Bay Area; our third year students are in the process of applying for our fourth year clinical externships (residency). Our second year students have just completed their oral qualifying exams and have just begun their first clinical internships! In August, we were excited to see our program grow more and welcome a third cohort to the program. Our students are highly motivated and dedicated to the profession and this conference would be a wonderful opportunity for our students to integrate in the field of audiology to enhance our education.

Audiology is an incredibly special field that is centered around patient care. Audiologists play an integral role in helping those with hearing loss gain access to sound and communication. We are training hard to evolve into the best audiologists we can be, and would truly appreciate any support you can give as we look to further our education at the American Academy of Audiology 2023+HearTECH Expo.
