Anime Club

Who are we? 

The Anime Club is a large group of students and alumni with the goal of celebrating Japanese, Korean, and Chinese cultural heritage through the art of animation. We introduce our members to details regarding Anime culture and teach them new things that they may not have known before. In each meeting, we always plan and organize activities relating to the Anime culture for our members to experience for themselves. We try to provide opportunities for people to experience this culture for themselves online and in person, although our in person meetings provide an overall more comprehensive experience. We always prioritize the enjoyment of our members. Our club provides a perfect environment for people of the same interests to mingle and grow closer as a whole.

Why are we raising the money?

We require funds in order to be able to hold educational events, plan field trips, and invite guest speakers. While we are technically a small scale organization, we do put a great deal of effort into planning and executing activities, which encourage the expansion of our member’s knowledge of Anime culture. For the past two years, we were limited by the pandemic and the quarantine that forced all of our meetings to take place online. As such, our activities were limited and connections with our club members had been strictly virtual. Coming back from the online setting, we found that the club had shrunk from its previous size. With our current limited funding, we have been keeping the costs of our activities to a minimum. However, with an expansion of our budget, we plan to focus our activities on more ambitious projects that immerse our members deeper into the culture of Anime. Some of our potential projects include trips to Anime conventions, learning more about Japanese culture through samples of food and visits of historical sites. Depending on the amount of donations we might be able to organize a trip to Japan, the origin of Anime related culture.
