Mock Trial

Who are we?

We are San Jose State University’s Mock Trial Team. Our recognized student organization is registered under the national organization of the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA), where undergraduate students around the nation get a chance to learn, practice, and exercise public speaking, legal reasoning, critical thinking, teamwork, and other skills related to the legal field. Going on its fourth year, Mock Trial SJSU is at its highest membership and student interest this 2022 season. Our diverse team is composed of 25 students led by our board of directors who are all women of color in pre-law. Mock Trial SJSU’s goals within this school year are to travel and compete against other universities in AMTA tournaments, as well as establish our program as a resource for pre-law students in San Jose State University.

Why are we raising the money?

As a student organization, the funding and resources for our program has been limited. Additionally, as the program expands throughout the years, more students are interested in traveling, competing and learning about the legal system. We are raising money to fund our resources and competitions. The funds would be used for traveling expenses of students, tournament fees, printing out handouts and materials, and any other resources for pre-law students.
