Lawrence Fan Athletics Media Relations Internship

To honor the late legend Lawrence Fan, San José State Athletics will be establishing the Lawrence Fan Athletics Media Relations Internship for those with aspirations for a career in sports media. Providing opportunities for others to succeed was paramount to Lawrence during his 42 years of service and excellence in the media relations industry. This internship will provide a platform to grow and develop in the sports media industry while interning with the Spartan Athletics Media Relations Department.

Lawrence was a titan in the sports media industry. He built his legacy on providing excellent customer service, thoughtfulness and of course a bit of quirkiness.

Lawrence made it a point to get to know all of the student-athletes that he worked with. Not only their names, but also their hometowns, previous schools, career statistics, and more. He had a passion for telling the stories of Spartan student-athletes that couldn't be found in a box score or game recap.

Although Lawrence kept himself plenty busy with work, he always made time to be with his family, including his niece and nephews.
