It has been heartwarming to see the whole community come together with generous contributions made by so many, including alumni, faculty and staff members, friends, community members and corporate partners. In addition, we want to thank our corporate partner, Cisco Systems, for agreeing in our final week to match all donations up to a total of $10,000. This, combined with the $10,000 donation from San José State alumni Joan and Don Beall, has brought us within reach of our goal of $125,000.  

We have 48 hours left in the campaign, so is not too late to make a difference. Please consider making an additional donation and continue to share the crowdfunding page on social media with your friends, family and colleagues as we make our final push to $125,000. Together we can make that difference for students who are currently struggling to meet their needs.

With the momentum of our campaign still progressing, Joan and Don Beall, generous San José State alumni, will donate $10,000 when our total reaches $100,000. Given this and the continuously growing need for our students, we are increasing our goal to $125,000.

If you've already made a gift, you may be able to double or triple your impact by checking if you or anyone else in your household works for a company that matches charitable donations. Many companies have increased their matches for COVID-19-related causes.

As of April 7, 2020, 323 donors have come together to raise 91% of our goal of $50,000. The end date has been extended to April 30th due to an ever-growing number of students who need help due to the pandemic. Additionally, we are raising the goal to $60,000 due to this increasing need as well as the overwhelmingly positive response we have received from our community. Thank you for providing much-needed assistance for SJSU students in need:

• A student working two jobs lost his retail job, so was unable to afford rent for himself and family.

• Losing a job due to COVID-19, a student feared recent medical bills would go to collection.

• An international student can’t get home due to the home-country lockdown and can’t get a transfer of funds due to bank closures.

Students are grateful for support that enables them to concentrate more on their studies because they are worrying less about trying to make ends meet during the pandemic. Please share this site with your friends so together we can help even more students!
