With one week remaining in the I-House crowdfunding campaign, we have met 100% of our goal!  That's wonderful news and we thank each of our donors with deep appreciation.  

There's even more good news to share with you.  As we reached out to alumni and community members to ask for your support and participation, one of our long-time supporters contacted I-House to let us know that he will donate the removal of the old lettering, and will manufacture and install the new lettering!  We will still need to hire a painter to update the segment where the new lettering will be installed.  Thank you to San Jose Rotary Club International House committee member Fred Wilhelm and his company Marketshare, Inc. for offering this donation to remove the old lettering, and to manufacture and install the new lettering!  

What does that mean for all of the donations that you have made to cover the cost of new lettering at I-House?  I hope that our donors will be happy to see that we can now use the funds you donated towards one of our many outstanding projects to maintain and improve the I-House. This current crowdfunding campaign might as easily have been dedicated to replace carpet, reupholster furniture, or to offset at least a small portion of the large kitchen remodel being required of the I-House to meet current building codes. Your financial support allows the SJSU International House to cover capital expenses in order to maintain our beautiful building while we reduce the reliance on residents whose room and board fees pay for most of our expenses.  We are happy to answer your questions so please feel free to reach out to us for more information. 

With that in mind, anyone who hasn't donated to date is still encouraged to do so.  If you check out other SJSU crowdfunding campaigns, you'll see that some of them have gone far over their goal, so feel free to help us top our goal prior to the end of the crowdfunding campaign.

It's very exciting that two weeks into the campaign, we have reached 75% of our $10K goal!  Thank you so much to those of you who have contributed already!  You are the leaders among alumni and friends of I-House.  We look to the rest of our community to help us meet and exceed our goal. 

We are sending weekly e-mails.  If you haven't received them, check your spam folder.  Make sure you've enabled Constant Contact so you can see the short videos of current and former residents, and read the "I am grateful for..." poem by a San Jose Rotary member of the SJSU I-House committee.   We're also mailing out a newsletter that you can look forward to receiving in December.  If you'd like to receive e-mail and/or postal mail from I-House, make sure we have your updated contact information.  

Remember, your contributions allow us to continue to offer the wonderful I-House experience as we make improvements to the facility and offer interactive programs and activities that bring together people from around the world.
